Let’s kick things off here, though, with what we consider to be some rather sad news: There is no new installment coming onto Fox tonight. What’s happening instead? Fox is airing a new episode of The Masked Singer in seven days’ time, and that is going to temporarily displace the Terrence Howard – Taraji P. Henson drama. Instead, you’ll see the midseason finale airing on December 17 entitled “Cold Cold Man.” That’s a long time to wait for new episodes, but we like to think that it will prove to be worthwhile. How can it not be? There’s going to be all sorts of drama that unfolds throughout this hour, especially since we’re going to see some escalating danger. Heck, we could even get to a point where the episode concludes with one of those shocking flash-forwards set up early on this season.
No matter what happens, we’re sure that it will be worth the wait — the writers had to know to deliver all of the goods, given that this does mark the last midseason finale that Empire is going to have.

Upon being shut out of the ASA nominations, the women of Bossy choose Melody to take their performance slot at the ASAs, causing Tiana to question all of her decisions over the past few months. Meanwhile, Teri confronts Andre over his lies and elsewhere, an emotional confrontation ends with a bang… or two in the all-new “Cold Cold Man” fall finale episode of EMPIRE airing Tuesday, Dec. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Based on the promo, it actually looks like Cookie could shoot Lucious herself!
After this episode and all of its shockers, be prepared to wait until we get around to March for something more. Fox isn’t changing its scheduling patterns now, and that means a lot of waiting until the end of the road.
