Outlander notes: Convention aftermath and what’s next

Outlander season 4

In today’s Outlander notes, we’re talking about the current state of things for the cast. After all, it’s a rather unusual time! Think about it this way: Filming is done, and with that, the same can be said for The Land Con 3. The convention was held this weekend in Paris, and a good time was had by all. (If you want to see one of the funnier gifs of the week, search for what happened with Sam Heughan and Steven Cree at one of the panels.)

So what actually happens from here? That’s going to vary from one actor to the next, but we at least have an idea of what it’s going to be for some people.

For Heughan, for example, we know that he’s angling to fit at least one movie in following the end of season 5 production and the start of season 6 … though there’s not exactly a ton of time available for him to do it. Remember this — he not only has to promote season 5 closer to it premiering, but also promotion for Bloodshot, the movie he filmed during the last hiatus. That’s a lot for anyone to take on!

Elsewhere, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Sophie Skelton or Richard Rankin land another TV/movie role, even if it’s just in a recurring capacity. For Richard, we know that he did a season of Trust Me in the last hiatus!

Caitriona Balfe is in the process still of Ford v. Ferrari promotion and could be through much of awards season. She’s also coming off of an appearance at the British Fahsion Awards!

All in all, it feels fair to say that we’re going to have a lot of Outlander headlines to report on, even if there isn’t anything going on with filming.

What do you want to see the Outlander cast do during its hiatus?

Be sure to share right now in the comments, and remember to stick around for some other news.
