NCIS season 17: Cote de Pablo on possible Tony – Ziva reunion
Speaking in a new interview with Truth Celebs, Cote does her best to make it clear that she’s still interested in seeing these two characters reunite. It’s something that she and Michael Weatherly are both invested in trying to make happen, and it’s also a reunion that feels like proper closure to a story that first started years ago. Back in “Family First,” Tony was led to believe that Ziva was dead and he and their daughter Tali kicked off a new life overseas. How much Tony knows about the situation with Ziva now remains unclear; it’s noteworthy that she did not speak with Tony via phone at the end of episode 2 this season.

The major question behind a possible Tiva reunion is something rather simple: When will both Michael and Cote appear in the same episode? That’s no easy thing to accomplish, given that Weatherly stars on Bull and it films on the other side of the country, with also a similar production schedule at the same time. Cote also makes it clear in the interview that she’s not sure when a reunion will happen, and mentions that Michael’s a “busy guy” thanks to his other show.
Is it possible that we’re getting smokescreens aplenty leading into the next two episodes with Ziva? Certainly, and we know that these have been filmed as of late. There is definitely room story-wise to bring Tony back then. If not at this point, another worthy possibility is the 400th episode. Sure, Cote is only confirmed at the moment to appear in two more episodes (airing December 17 and January 7), but we wonder if there is a chance for one more coming down the line.
