When the Lucifer writers room noted that they had a tease coming up today to make up for a new episode-title hint, we had no real idea what to expect. Yet, at the same time we didn’t expect this to rise to the surface.
In a new post on Twitter, the writers confirmed that co-showrunner Joe Henderson is the writer for episode 9 … but then also shared some another interesting tease about the future. “Trixie killed.” (Click on the tweet to blow it up and see the full hint.) It looks like there’s a word after “killed” that begins with an L, but it’s a little hard to know/see for sure.

So why would Trixie kill anything? At the moment, this absolutely feels like the billion-dollar question and for good reason. Trixie represents often joy on the show — maybe she’s gotten a little bit of training from Maze, but we don’t think we’re meant to take this literally. It’s hard to think that Trixie is suddenly going to become a murderer this close to the end of the season.
Instead, there are some other interesting ideas to think about here. Consider a metaphor. Maybe Trixie killed love (a romantic moment between the characters), or maybe someone thinks Trixie killed Lucifer’s inner darkness. Maybe Trixie “killed it,” as in she did a really good job at something. No matter what, the writers have handed us something really fun to think about over the Thanksgiving holiday. No matter what it is, isn’t it nice that the writers are keeping every character in mind over the final episodes? Trixie doesn’t get the same attention as a Lucifer, a Chloe, a Dan, or virtually anyone else in the adult cast, but she can’t be forgotten. That’s especially the case if Lucifer and Chloe are going to move forward into a relationship together.
What do you think about this oh-so-fascinating Lucifer season 5 hint?
