Is Riverdale new tonight on The CW? A look towards season 4’s future
Let’s go ahead and get some of the bad news out of the way right now — you’re not going to be seeing Archie, Betty, or anyone else on the air tonight with an all-new story. Given that this is the day before Thanksgiving, the network understandably is being a little gun-shy. They want people to understandably watch some of their shows, and a lot of younger viewers may either be traveling or spending time with their families.
Given that there are plenty of weeks in the season for The CW to air some of their shows, there’s also probably a feeling that there is no reason at all to rush Riverdale along. There are still plenty of different opportunities to see the series back with new episodes!
So while you wait for what’s coming up, why not go ahead and present a few details? You can see the synopses for the next two episodes below, courtesy of the network itself.
Season 4 episode 8, “In Treatment” – GINA TORRES GUEST STARS AS RIVERDALE HIGH’S GUIDANCE COUNSELOR – As residents across Riverdale begin receiving more mysterious videotapes on their doorsteps, the seniors of Riverdale High eagerly await their college decision letters. Concerned that the stress may be getting to them, Mrs. Burble (guest star Gina Torres), the school’s guidance counselor, meets with Betty (Lili Reinhart), Archie (KJ Apa), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) to discuss what’s plaguing them. Madchen Amick, Mark Consuelos, Casey Cott, Skeet Ulrich and Vanessa Morgan also star. Michael Goi directed the episode written by Tessa Leigh Williams (#408.) Original airdate 12/4/2019.
Our sentiment at the moment is simply this — the presence of Torres makes this well worth the price of admission alone.
Season 4 episode 9, “Tangerine” – THE SEARCH FOR FORSYTHE PENDLETON JONES I – After declaring war on Hiram (Mark Consuelos), Veronica (Camila Mendes) enlists a secret weapon against her father – her Abuelita (guest star Ana Mercedes). Archie (KJ Apa) and FP (Skeet Ulrich) team up to take Dodger (guest star Juan Riedinger) down for good, while Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Charles (guest star Wyatt Nash) investigate a series of strange attacks aimed at Betty. Elsewhere, Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) search for his grandpa, Forsythe Pendleton Jones I (guest star Timothy Webber), leads to more questions than answers, while Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finally makes peace with the past that’s been haunting her. Madchen Amick, Casey Cott, Charles Melton and Vanessa Morgan also star. Gabriel Correa directed the episode written by Brian E. Paterson (#409.) Original airdate 12/11/2019.
We’ll go ahead and say it — episode 9 is probably going to have some of the biggest twists of the entire year! We’d go ahead and prepare for that now.
