Want to know what’s coming on The Resident season 3 episode 9? Let’s start here with the rather-ominous title: “Out for Blood.” This isn’t going to be the final episode in 2019; instead, it’s a little more of a stepping stone. Whatever happens here is almost sure to carry over to the final episode of the year, and maybe even beyond that. Some of the doctors are facing enormous problems — take, for example, Conrad taking on a malpractice suit. As if difficult patients in the present were not bad enough, there are also now some major issues that Matt Czuchry’s character is facing from the past.
Below, CarterMatt has the official The Resident season 3 episode 9 synopsis with some more news as to what lies ahead:
Conrad comes under fire when a former patient files a malpractice lawsuit against him, putting Bell in a difficult position with Red Rock. When Devon discovers that his VIP patient has a life-threatening brain condition, the doctors ban together to perform a risky surgery. Meanwhile, Mina discovers that Adaku (guest star Erinn Westbrook) has a dangerous heart condition that puts her and the baby at risk, and Kyle forms a personal relationship with a patient in the all-new “Out for Blood” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Tuesday, Dec. 3 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-308) (TV-14 D, L, V)
One of the things that has surprised us the most as of late with the show is the number of uses that the series has for Kyle. What’s the function of that? We do think that a big part of it has a thing or two to do with the fact that The Resident wants to ensure that it’s about more than just the patients each week. It’s also about the family of doctors/nurses and some of the individual issues that they encounter. Often, what happens outside of various rooms at Chastain has an impact within them. Every relationship, in one way or another, matters — we’re eager to see how one like Kyle informs Nic’s story over the coming weeks.
