‘The League’ season 4: ‘Glee’s’ Jayma Mays scores guest spot

There is some good news coming up for those of you out there who love watching Jayma Mays on “Glee” … even if the downside here is that we are going to be seeing less of her on “Glee” moving forward.

According to a new report from TVLine, the actress is going to be appearing on two episodes of the FX comedy “The League,” where she is going to be playing the part of an interior decorator. Sadly, there is not much else known about her part for the time being. While this does confirm that she will be unavailable for at least a short span of time for “Glee,” there is some silver lining here, namely in that Emma was quietly demoted before the season to a guest star, anyway. This gives her the freedom to go and do other appearances, and since Emma is not being used that much at the moment, anyway, she can pop in and out when producers want her to. (Dianna Agron had a similar demotion before the start of the season.)

Really, “The League” is going to give Mays an opportunity to show off some more of her comedic talents beyond just playing someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder. This is a show with a very different, more adult sort of tone behind it, and it also follows up a long-standing hit in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” in the lineup on Thursdays. Some of the more adult fans can actually switch over not that long after “Glee” is over!
