Dancing with the Stars 28 finale: Is Hannah Brown, Kel Mitchell winner?
Going into the finale tonight, we’ll go ahead and make it clear that we felt like this was Hannah Brown’s competition to lose. She’s been one of the most popular contestants for most of the season — she’s also the only person this season to not being in the bottom at some point.

If you were going based on scores tonight, though, we would say that the likely champion is Ally Brooke. Yet, she’s also been in the bottom more than anyone. Kel Mitchell is probably our personal favorite, mostly because he brought a lot of entertainment and also great dancing into the arena this season. We just weren’t sure if he would get a lot of the support that he’d need to take it home. We just hoped that it would be a close finish and an exciting one from start to finish. (All of the scores were relatively close to each other, though Lauren Alaina was in fourth place overall.)
Now, let’s get to the results…
The dancer in fourth place was Lauren Alaina — shocking given the size of the country vote. The dancer in third place was Ally Brooke. We got down to the final two, we were sweating, we were nervous … and the winner for the season was Hannah Brown. Kel Mitchell, in the end, is in second place.
In the end, we do think that this was a worthy winner for the season — Hannah was a great winner and representative for the season. Yet, it doesn’t change how much we loved Kel for most of the year.
