The Resident season 3 episode 8 sneak peek: A Thanksgiving surprise
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from watching Thanksgiving episodes over the years, it’s this: Very little ever actually goes according to plan. For Conrad and Nic, that’s made clear in the sneak peek below. On the surface, it does seem as though the two have things planned out for the perfect holiday celebration. Think in these terms — they’ve got no family, no cooking to do, and they can just spend time with each other. They’re happy to have this time all to themselves after having to give and give to everyone around them.
Yet … things are getting awkward soon after they start to settle in. Why? Go ahead and blame Kyle for this. He shows up unannounced and makes it clear that he wants to take over all of the holiday preparation. Not only that, but he also has someone with him in Sadie — presumably, a new girlfriend.
So let’s recap here — any hope for Conrad and Nic to have a romantic holiday is gone, and now they have to contend instead with Nic’s often-absentee dad and a woman who Nic doesn’t even know. This is gonna be strange. Also, you have to wonder if Kyle wants something else due to the timing of his appearance. We’ve seen so many occasions where there is an ulterior motive with this man. Why in the world would they believe anything different here? It’s just hard to.
For those who still want some old-fashioned The Resident hospital drama, rest assured that there is still some of that mixed in here, as well. This is, after all, an installment that wants to give you a little bit of everything and then some. (Thanksgiving is not a good day to work at the hospital — you want to be festive, but you have so many patients coming in due to some food-related disasters. Probably saps some of the spirit right out of you.)
