‘Chicago Fire’ spoilers: ‘Fairly Legal’s’ Sarah Shahi to romance Taylor Kinney

Just in case there was not enough concern over the future of “Fairly Legal” on USA after Michael Trucco signed up for a guest arc on “How I Met Your Mother,” we now have yet another reason to be concerned now.

Multiple sources have now confirmed that Sarah Shahi, who is the star of the drama series for the first two seasons, has been booked for a six-episode stint on the new NBC show “Chicago Fire,” where she will be playing the character of Renee Royce, who is a businesswoman who also couples as a love interest for Taylor Kinney’s character of Kelly Severide. This is a nice gig for the “L Word” alum when it comes to jumping on board a network series, though the length of her stint probably suggests to us at the moment that her relationship with Lady Gaga’s boyfriend.

USA is still waiting to make a decision on the future of “Fairly Legal,” but the ratings for the second season were weaker than most other shows in the network’s lineup. However, you could argue that one of the reasons for the show are not as bad considering that the season aired on Friday night, but the network has a lot to think about given that they are getting set to launch “Modern Family” in syndication next year (which should bring up some of their ratings across the board).

What do you think about this casting, and do you feel in any way this could mean that the future of “Fairly Legal” is not looking bright? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts below.
