This Is Us season 4: Timothy Omundson on playing Gregory

Timothy Omundson

This Is Us season 4 has contained its fair share of powerful moments, but to us, some of the best stuff is coming from seeing Timothy Omundson back on TV. The Psych star is in the midst of an arc as Gregory, a guy who is in his own personal recovery from a stroke. He’s having to re-learn a number of things that he once could do effortlessly, and while he may have come across as a little bit brusque at first, Kate has come to know him and they’ve formed a nice friendship.

If you do want to know a little more in the way of insight on what Omundson has gone through over the past few years, including his stroke and his recovery process, check out the video from The Kelly Clarkson Show below. In that, he details the moment things went wrong for him and a lot of the work that he’s done in the process of being on the mend. It hasn’t come easy, but earlier this year he resumed acting with a role on Psych The Movie 2, otherwise now known as Lassie Come Home. That movie was written in some ways so that it would mirror his recovery, and we’re imagining that there is a lot of humor sprinkled in there, as well.

The last we saw Gregory on This Is Us, he was a part of Baby Jack eating a little bit of avocado. It was a huge milestone in his life, but also one Toby may lament given that he was not there for it. (In a sneak peek that was already revealed from Tuesday’s episode, Kate ends up cluing Toby in on the fact that the baby had a little bit of avocado in that moment.) There’s no tellins as of yet in Omundson will appear in the winter finale.
