Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 7: Who is Joshua?

We knew coming into Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 7 that there was a chance that we could learn some significant information that changes much of the rest of the season. With that in mind, has the Fan finally been unearthed?

Well, let’s just say that it appears that way, and the storyline about Elias Voit meeting with family members has somehow merged with this one. A man named Joshua turned up early in the episode and through a series of conversations, Voit realized that this was not someone who was sharing the full story. Instead, this is someone who sought out Voit because of his own evolution — and also seems ready to turn the tables on them at the same exact time.

What makes this revelation important is not all that complicated: Elias has now seen this person’s face and through that, has a sizable amount of knowledge that he could pass along to the BAU. Will he do it, though? That’s another question outright, given that he has long had his own agenda and beyond just that, “Joshua” seemed to plan out what he wanted to do with Voit in advance. The interaction at the conclusion of the story confirms that.

At this point, we are mostly just happy that Criminal Minds: Evolution did not wait until the finale to unmask some of what is going on here — it does make the final episodes of this season a little bit more suspenseful. It also seems to suggest that in order for justice to be served this time around, a lot of people are going to have to come together, and possibly take a few risks in the process in order to pull off exactly what it is that they want.
