Better Call Saul season 5 announcement looms; more evidence

Better Call Saul season 5

While there is no official news yet on a Better Call Saul season 5 premiere date, we are getting a good sense that news is coming sooner rather than later.

How can we tell this? Just think in terms of the AMC series’ social-media habits. Over the past two days, there are two new posts that tease Jimmy McGill’s future life as Cinnabon manager Gene. Given how little the account tends to post during the off-season, an uptick of attention now seems suspicious. That goes along with the recent message the account sent out to stay tuned for some other announcements all about the show.

What are we expecting now? First and foremost, we’re hoping for a season 5 premiere date. We imagine that there will be some more news handed down over the course of the next few weeks, especially if the show is going to come back early next year. Our hope is that Better Call Saul will return at some point in January; there is really no reason to wait for it at all, especially when you think a little bit about how long it has been since filming first wrapped up. There’s also the El Camino factor, as we think that it does benefit the series significantly for them to use the movie in order to build more attention around the show itself.

Following the premiere date announcement, an actual trailer should be revealed. We would imagine that within said trailer, we’re going to have a chance to see a lot of exciting things revealed. Think along the lines of Jimmy acting more as the Saul Goodman we know from Breaking Bad. While there may be some entertainment that comes from Saul’s birth, we can’t imagine that this means great things for other people; take, for example, Kim Wexler.
