Is Lucas Black leaving NCIS: New Orleans? Is Lasalle dead?
Even before tonight’s new episode, we will admit that we were concerned about the story, given the sole fact that Black himself posted a message on social media talking about how honored he was to play the character. File this under “not stuff we tend to see from someone sticking around a show.” Then, there was just the situation that Christopher was in as he was looking to get justice for his brother Cade.

So let’s just make this clear: We were really worried about the fate of Lasalle entering the episode tonight. After all, the stakes were THAT high. That almost always are, but given the personal nature of the case, things are a little different.
The moment that we saw Lasalle get shot in the hospital, we knew that we were in some pretty serious trouble. Then, things looked even worse within those hospital walls. It was a hard thing to digest, but we still wanted to believe that he would make it! Why wouldn’t we? All of the agents also did their best in order to hold onto as much hope as possible, as they really should, all things considered.
Then, the doctors and the nurses were unable to do anything for Lasalle despite all of their best efforts. They did everything that they could to save him, but it didn’t seem as though they had any more way to do something. He flatlined. We’d love to say that there was a chance that he could make it through this somehow via some dramatic twist, but that’s not the sort of show that this is. NCIS: New Orleans isn’t really out to throw anyone for that sort of story loop or bring about actual supernatural stuff. The closest thing that we had was the Angel of Death story from earlier in the series’ run. The only thing we have to cling to is that this is some sort of awful dream…
For most of the rest of the episode, the theme was going to be getting justice. That wasn’t easy, but it’s something that everyone wanted to do.
In the end, the episode concluded tonight with a memorial for Lasalle and with everyone getting a chance to remember their friend. We are devastated to see him go, but there was something nice beyond just getting justice; we had a chance to see a lot of the cast members reflect on some of their favorite memories with Christopher. For us, there are too many to count. He represented the world of New Orleans perfectly, both with his interests, his love of his job, and his sense of humor and style.
