At the moment, what we know is that, for certain, there will be a third season of the series on FX! The series was given a green light just a matter of a day ago, with the biggest reason seemingly beings it success. This has been an incredibly popular franchise for the network, both in terms of live viewers and also within the 18-49 demographic.

Of course, there are some curveballs that are coming along with the renewal, most notably when it comes to original co-creator Kurt Sutter no longer being in the mix. His firing came as a shock earlier this fall and now, fellow co-creator Elgin James is going to be responsible for taking the lead. We know that Sutter has a lot of confidence in James in terms of his creative vision, and he is the right person with the given circumstances in mind to carry the show forward.

Under the typical timeline with Mayans MC/Sons of Anarchy, we would assume that the third season of the series would premiere at some point in the fall of 2020. Could it be a little bit later this time around? We have to think that this is a possibility. Why? It has a thing or two to do with the change in showrunner and trying to come up with the right story to push the show forward. Also, we know that it’s becoming more and more of a trend over time for series to delay seasons to make sure that things are 100% perfect.
