Billions season 5 spoilers: Julianna Margulies, Corey Stoll on board
According to a new report from Variety, former The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies is going to be appearing in multiple episodes as Catherine Brant, described as an Ivy League sociology professor. She’s also a best-selling author, so she’s going to have some sort of larger impact on the surrounding world.
Yet, there are still questions aplenty regarding how exactly someone like Catherine is going to fit into the larger world of Billions. This is a show where you’ve got many people all doing their part to count their stacks of money … or, at least that is the case with Axe. He and Chuck Rhoades have been at odds for most of the series, but we think that the relationship here will continue to shift and evolve over time.
Meanwhile, we’ve also got news that House of Cards alum Corey Stoll (really, fantastic casting all around today) is going to be coming on board the show in the role of Michael Prince. What do we know about him? The current casting info points to him being a mogul in the business world, but someone who has some fairly humble beginnings growing up in a small town in Indiana.
In general, there’s a lot to like about both of these castings, just as there is a lot to like about Billions season 5 as a whole. This is a show that has already put most of its characters through hell and you like to think that they’re in a better, smarter place now that they’ve been through what they have. There are some battles coming up, but they’re not going to be the same that we’ve seen before.
