Supergirl season 5 episode 6 spoilers: A story of ‘Confidence Women’

Supergirl season 5 episode 6 carries with it the title of “Confidence Women,” and the first thing that we’ll admit to here is simply this: This name very much reminds us of the Lost episode “Confidence Men.” There’s a chance within this episode, as well, to learn about some interesting backstory; if this is a Lost reference, maybe it is Lena and Andrea who will be sharing experiences that are at least somewhat similar to some of what Sawyer went through.

If nothing else, though, what we know about this episode is that we’re going to see how these two women tackled some hard times in their past, and are now bracing to look a little bit more towards the future.

PIECE TOGETHER THE PAST – While a new villain is under arrest at the DEO, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) uses him to try and understand who is responsible for the recent attacks. Meanwhile, Andrea (Julie Gonzalo) and Lena (Katie McGrath) think back on their tumultuous past. Shannon Kohli directed the episode written by Dana Horgan & Nicki Holcomb (#506). We foresee this being one of the episodes that is a little more on the low-key and introspective side. The goal here isn’t so much finding a way in order to ensure that Andrea and Lena are on the same page by the end; rather, it may be trying to figure out more of what the two characters got to this particular position in the first place. We’re down for any episode of this show that can spotlight this much character development, and we also have a good feeling that we’ll see this continue in some interesting directions from now through the end of the season … or, at least how long Andrea sticks around. We do still think that there is some more Acrata in her future, after all!
