Madam Secretary season 6 episode 5 spoilers: A Presidential crisis

Madam Secretary

Sunday night’s Madam Secretary season 6 episode 5 is going to be entitled “Daisy,” and there are some serious issues that will have to be dealt with. After all, Elizabeth McCord is going to be doing everything within her power to take on an issue that could threaten her entire Presidency! These are big-time stakes that we are talking about here, and this is not the sort of thing to be trifled with.

Yet, there’s also another issue, a more cosmetic one, around the White House that needs to be attended to. This is the focus of the sneak peek below! In this clip, you can see Tea Leoni’s character dealing with a dog-related issue after a new four-legged friend ends up causing someone to drop an original sculpture of President Dwight Eisenhower. How do you fix a problem like that? Well, one way to do so is to call the Smithsonian, but we’ve got a feeling that finding a solution to this could be a little bit more complicated than just that. We’re still sure that they’ll figure this out, given that someone should be able to recreate it — Elizabeth’s bigger priority should be dealing with hacked information. There may not be anyone who can reconstruct her Presidency after that, and Daisy is going to be at the center of this story.

For a few more details about what’s coming, we suggest that you check out the full Madam Secretary season 6 episode 5 synopsis below right now:

When evidence implicates Daisy in the leak of hacked information during the presidential campaign and threatens to topple Elizabeth’s presidency, Elizabeth must decide what to believe and how far she’s willing to go to uncover the truth. Also, Henry and Elizabeth host former President Dalton (Keith Carradine) at the White House after his interview with Bob Schieffer.

Isn’t it nice to still have President Dalton involved in this story still? That was something that was far from guaranteed going into season 6 once we learned that Elizabeth was going to be President from the start. Many former Presidents do what they can to be far away from the White House at all times, but this is a little bit of a different dynamic. It’s rare these days to see a President follow someone else they were personally and professionally close to.
