Good Trouble season 2 episode 9: Return date revealed for holiday event!

Good Trouble season 2 episode 9 isn’t going to be your standard installment on the Freeform drama. Think instead along these lines — we’re gearing up for the holiday special! This is a chance to see many of your favorites back, and not just from this show! It’s going to be a reunion of The Fosters like no other, as Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Noah Centineo, Hayden Byerly, and David Lambert are all going to be reprising their roles from the original! Not only that, but you’ll also see Brandon’s wife Eliza and her family, including Callie’s frequent love interest Jamie (Beau Mirchoff).

So when is the event going to air? Think along the lines of Monday, December 16 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is a two-hour event, so you may as well go ahead and consider this a holiday movie almost just as much as a standard Good Trouble episode. We know that there is a lot of interesting story to look forward to here, especially since you are going through and doing your part to merge the established world of The Fosters with what we’ve found over on this continuation.

There are almost two different challenges going on with this special because of how many people are involved. You have to figure out a way in which to make this stand out as a part of Good Trouble, but also stand somewhat on its own. How many long-term plots do you want to fit in here? It’s so many months removed from the end of the first part of the season, and it is still weeks removed from when the show will likely come back with the second part of it. We think that there is something to be said for making this special be relatively standalone, at least in the event that you want to replay it in the years to come.

Then again, there is a case to be made for Freeform doing some sort of Good Trouble holiday event year in and year out — the network does love their holiday programming!
