Grey’s Anatomy season 16 episode 7 promo: Why is Owen freaking out?
What’s going on here? Well, the story goes a little something like this — he’s mad that Amelia is pregnant and he’s only finding out about now. Also, he’s mad because he feels like she didn’t want to start a family during their relationship/marriage and now, she’s more than fine to do so with Link, someone she doesn’t know anywhere near as well.

Is Owen projecting? We wonder that — mostly, we wonder if this is a sign that he still has some feelings and he’s jealous that it’s not him and Amelia on some level. If they were totally cool, it feels like this would be the sort of situation where he tells her “that’s great,” supports her, and the two move on. Maybe it’s difficult for him on some level, but it’s not so much something to berate her over. Where is that going to get him? Of course, let’s not sit here and pretend that Owen is someone who avoids self-destructive behavior — he’s almost the poster child for it sometimes.
One other thing to consider here for Owen is this: He should be happy. This is a guy who is building a family with Teddy and now has two kids, including Leo who he adopted. He’s getting everything that he wanted! It’d be one thing for him to freak out over Amelia suddenly getting something that he’s not, but this is a completely different situation. With that, don’t you think that it would merit a somewhat-different response?
