Nancy Drew episode 5 spoilers: ‘The Case of the Wayward Spirit’

Nancy Drew

The goal for Nancy Drew episode 5, airing on The CW next week, seems to be very clear: Continue to freak you out. Sure, Halloween may be this week, but why stop there? Why not continue to make things as freaky and twisted as possible?

The fact that episode 5 is entitled “The Case of the Wayward Spirit” tells you some of what you need to know … but we have a hard time thinking that you’re settled knowing just that. Tiffany’s spirit and its goals will prove to be a big part of the episode — think in terms of a possession, and Nancy desperately doing what she can to help George out before things get even more out of hand. A normal mystery is hard; a mystery with this much of a supernatural element? Let’s just say that it could throw an entire community for a loop.

If you missed it, Nancy Drew was picked up already for a full season by The CW! Check out our video below discussing that and some other topics; once you do that, be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube — we’ll have more ratings discussions all season long!

Below, CarterMatt does have the official Nancy Drew episode 5 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming up:

MILES G. VILLANUEVA (“THE RESIDENT”) GUEST STARS IN THE EPISODE – When Nancy (Kennedy McMann) realizes that George (Leah Lewis) is possessed by Tiffany’s spirit, she must act quickly to rid her friend of the ghostly passenger before it’s too late. Meanwhile, a mysterious stranger, Owen (guest star Miles G. Villanueva), wanders in to The Claw and asks the gang to cater a charity gala happening at the country club that same day. Scott Wolf, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon, Riley Smith and Alvina August also stars. Claudia Yarmy directed the episode written by Melinda Hsu Taylor & Katherine DiSavino (#105). Original airdate 11/6/2019. Every episode of NANCY DREW will be available to stream on CWTV.com and The CW App the day after broadcast for free and without a subscription, log-in or authentication required.

While we know that Nancy Drew presents many a good reason to watch, let’s just say that there is something especially appealing about a show that features both a ghostly spirit and a country-club gala in the same hour. How do you plan for something like that amidst everything else that is going down?
