Is The Masked Singer new tonight? The new schedule ahead
Let’s go ahead now and present you with some of the bad news — there is no new installment airing tonight. What happened? It’s all due to the World Series. Because the showdown between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals is now heading to a Game 7, we’re going to be seeing everything delayed once again. It’s a shame, and especially at Halloween — isn’t this the perfect show for celebrating this time of year? We do like to think that there’s a lot of fun to be had … and we’re sure that there are plenty of people going out this Halloween in costume as some of their favorite costumes from this show!

Ratings-wise, we don’t love the fact that The Masked Singer is off the air for two weeks — if this was a less-successful show, maybe it would hurt it. Yet, we still feel convinced that it will come back strong just because it’s done so strongly for most of season 2 to date. This is one of those formats that may have a tipping point where it suddenly becomes less popular, but we haven’t made it to that point yet.
So what does the delay mean for the rest of the schedule? Remember that we started with 16 contestants this season and at the moment, we’re down to just 11. The next episode will get us down to 10, and we could foreseeably see the show go until mid-December based on if there are any two-hour episodes. We don’t imagine the World Series forcing any big schedule changes, though, other than just making the finale one week later than played. Fox likely had a contingency plan schedule-wise just in case the World Series did go this far.
One thing we’re hearing right now is that next week’s episode may now run for two hours — go ahead and be prepared for that, just in case.
