Grey’s Anatomy season 16: Jesse Williams praises flexible production

As you’ve probably seen over the past few months, Jesse Williams is starting to turn up all over the place. He had a role on this past episode of Power as Kadeem, the father to LaKeisha’s son Cash. Meanwhile, he’s also got another TV project coming along with him eventually going over to a big role on the stage.

So when you consider all of that, it’s fair to wonder whether or not it spells bad things for his future on Grey’s Anatomy — but it doesn’t have to. As a matter of fact, it sounds as though the ABC series has been as accommodating as possible when it comes to allowing him to do other things.

Basically, what we’re trying to say here is don’t assume that Jesse is leaving the medical drama just because he is doing some other stuff.

Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly (one talking primarily about his Power role), here is some of what Williams had to say in the subject:

They were very accommodating. This is my 11th year. Everybody’s really lovely and does their best to make it work. I’m on Grey‘s, I’ve got a relationship with a character on another Shonda show. I’m doing Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu. I’ve done a couple of movies. I’m getting ready for a play. I’ve got some tech companies that has me running in and out of the state. Grey‘s allows to the best of their ability for us to be able to have a life outside of the show while carrying a big load for them. I can’t say enough about how accommodating and loving they are.

We know that Jesse’s character of Jackson will have a big storyline on Thursday’s Grey’s Anatomy, as he does his best to help a kid who feels crummy about celebrating Halloween in the hospital.
