The Walking Dead season 10 episode 4 sneak peek: Daryl’s softer side
The opening minutes for tomorrow’s installment begin with getting to see Daryl around Judith and Michonne, and everyone seems to be doing okay. There’s some softer music in the background, everyone is going about their business, and there is even a little bit of romance mixed in here at the same time with Magna and Yumiko. (These two have to qualify as one of the best examples of characters who could be so much more compelling if they had consistent screen time.)
This preview off the softer side to many different characters, and we’d go ahead and say that the music adds significantly to that. Yet, amidst all of the calmer moments, you knew that there was going to be a storm. You see the beginnings of it in the closing seconds of the preview — i.e., the tiny part of it that exists leading into the theme song.
If we had to guess, this is one of those episodes where the whole world gets blown wide open, and while we may learn a few more details about the Whisperers and their present threat level, we foresee the story being about internal conflict as much as external. Anytime you run into an occasion where things don’t go according to plan in a community, you want to have someone to blame. Don’t be surprised if a big chunk of this particular story is about a search for a scapegoat … and there’s a good chance that it’s going to be Negan. With the history that he’s got with a number of these people, it just makes the most sense to point the finger at him over some of the craziness that is going down.
