‘American Idol’ notes: Lee DeWyze, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood

We have some “scary in a good way” coverage coming up courtesy of Adam Lambert in our Monday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, but we are going to be starting things off here with something that is genuinely scary: the situation going on with Hurricane Sandy at the moment on the east coast.

We obviously are sending our best wishes to everyone affected by the hurricane, and fans of Lee DeWyze and Kris Allen should know that their respective shows in New York City and Maryland on Monday have been canceled. Both guys are promising to make up these performances on a later date, so we’ll have a little bit more news on that subject when it becomes available.

Now that we have all of this covered, let’s focus on some items more likely to make you smile pertaining to two of the show’s most-popular contestants ever.

Adam Lambert the glampire – The photo above comes from the season 8 star’s latest appearance at a Halloween event, and this is always a holiday that he cherishes and tries to celebrate in his own way. Both he and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen have done a great job her when it comes to these costumes; they are not only frightening, but they are also pretty original considering just how popular vampires have become in recent years. Well done.

A new “Blown Away” performance – Finally, check out what the famous New York City P.S. 22 choir has done with Carrie Underwood’s hit song (which also happens to be the title track off of her album). It’s a pretty moving performance here, and these kids always manage to (pun completely intended) sweep us straight off the ground.
