American Gods season 3 spoilers: Power alum Lela Loren signs up!
According to Deadline, Loren will recur in the role of Marguerite Olsen, a neighbor of Shadow Moon’s alter ego within the famed Neil Gaiman source material. How she factors into the show will be interesting to see, but she may be presented as both a mother and a reporter. She’s the sort of person who could be beneficial to Shadow’s life, but also dangerous given what happened with him at the end of season 2. There are reasons for his new alter ego of Mike Ainsel, after all!
Loren is coming off of playing the tough investigator/attorney Angela Valdes on Power before the character’s departure earlier this season. (Let’s keep things as spoiler-free as possible.) This gives her a chance to stick around on another quality television show, one that many viewers have a great deal of familiarity with already. We hope that the source material will stay excellent, and that we’ll have some chances every step of the way to see her showcase different sides of who she is as a performer.
There’s no premiere date just yet for American Gods season 3, but every indication we’re getting right now suggests that Starz isn’t looking to have anywhere near as long a hiatus between season 2 and 3 as they did between season 1 and 2. Our feeling is that it’ll be around at some point in 2020, potentially following the fifth season of Outlander, which is premiering on February 16. More information and teasers will likely be available in the new year.
Odds are, Loren won’t be the only actor to exit Power prior to the finale airing — it definitely feels at the moment like the sort of show where anything can and will happen.
