Dancing with the Stars: Could Christie Brinkley appear on season 29?

Is there a chance that Christie Brinkley could end up being a part of Dancing with the Stars next season, following what has to be considered one of the most devastating injuries within the entire series’ history? We can’t guarantee anything as of yet, but it may be something work keeping in the back of your mind.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with People Magazine following his partner Sailor Brinkley-Cook’s elimination, Val Chmerkovskiy made it clear that his original celebrity still is interested in coming back:

“When it happened, 30 seconds into her literally shattering her arm, she asked, ‘Can I do this next season?’ … She was having a blast, and it’s funny now we’re talking about Sailor’s exit, but let’s not forget how it all began and not forget Christie’s exit. That exit was fairly traumatic, as well.”

Sailor’s exit is clearly going to be one that generates a lot of conversation over the next few weeks, and for good reason. We’re talking about a very good dancer that was cut down before it was her time to go. Would the fate of Val been different if he was dancing with Christie? Maybe. That’s the only answer we could offer. While Brinkley has a larger audience and sense of name recognition than her daughter, at the same time she may not have been as good a dancer. There is no real guarantee of that, so there are some elements of this that come as a trade-off. (There’s also a chance that she may have been even better!)

Scores aside, though, let’s look at this from a fun perspective — Brinkley was enthusiastic about the show and wanted to do it. She’s exiting through no fault of her own. Regardless of whether it be in the spring (if there is a season this spring) or one next fall, we’d be happy to see her back.
