The Walking Dead season 10 ratings: How big is the drop now?
Yet, despite all of its status as a franchise-starter and/or a game-changer, it is strange to think now of The Walking Dead as yet another show — and yet, here we are. This show is not the monster that it once was, though it is still at least solid. It’s got nothing to be ashamed of, given that so far, it’s averaging a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s still a big decline versus season 9, just like season 9 was a big decline versus season 8. There was a small revival following the arrival of Negan, but since that time, the numbers have gone down.
We do at least know this — The Walking Dead is coming back for a season 11. We know that there’s even a good chance still for a season 12, but at some point next year, there will have to be some sort of creative boost. You do want to ensure that you keep throwing various twists at the wall, including a few different ones on the subject of either adapting comic-book material or then throwing some new ones entering the mix.
Moving through the rest of season 10, the chief narrative drive is going to be the continued presence of the Whisperers. We have to imagine that things are only going to get crazier with each passing week and, suffice it to say we’re interested in seeing what that is going to look like.
