All Rise episode 6 spoilers: A celebrity case in ‘Fool for Liv’

What CBS’ All Rise is doing a good job at within this early run of episodes is show variety. Think about it — Lola as a judge takes on a wide array of cases. It only makes sense that we get to see what a number of them look like. This introduces an element of excitement into her job, and for us as viewers, it does also create some higher stakes.

After tonight’s wedding-centric installment (and another that revolved around an incident on the road), we are seeing on next week’s episode 6 (entitled “Fool for Liv”) a chance to learn about how Lola handles a celebrity case. We have to imagine that this is both a blessing and a curse for her when you really think about it.

“Fool for Liv” – Lola contends with a fame-hungry defendant, personal assistant Olivia McLeland (Bianca Santos), and a circus-like courtroom while presiding over a celebrity’s murder trial that forces her to find peace at Sherri’s home after she’s chased by paparazzi, on ALL RISE, Monday, Oct. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Jere Burns guest stars as Olivia’s attorney, Adam Pryce.

Being a judge is a tough job when you’ve got the paparazzi after you — after all, the last thing that you want is for the public to know where you live. You are, after all, the person responsible for punishing and/or sentencing a lot of dangerous people. There is a fear of retaliation, and in the end, judges are real people too. They deserve the opportunity to be able to go home, cool down after a tough day, and watch a little bit of TV. (Silly question, but how many real judges would be interested in watching a show like All Rise? We do wonder if there are parts of it that real-life judges can connect to on an emotional level.)
