NCIS: Los Angeles season 11: Why isn’t Harmon Rabb on USS Allegiance?

Harmom Rabb Jr.

Why isn’t David James Elliott appearing as Harmon Rabb on tonight’s NCIS: Los Angeles episode? Given the setting of tonight’s story, it made some sense for him to be there.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to see him aboard the USS Allegiance — his vessel of choice for both last season’s finale and then also the season premiere. We suspected that we wouldn’t have a chance to see him when Elliott wasn’t included in the guest cast for this episode, but we did still want to hold on to the slightest bit of hope that we’d be able to see him, one way or another.

Alas, the show did not feature Harm, with the reason for it being that he was in Washington dealing more with the fallout from earlier this season. That means that he is still attached to the Allegiance in some way, which is a bummer given that he wanted to see him actively decide to be a bit closer to Mac, his former JAG co-star as played by Catherine Bell.

Do we still want to see more of Harm down the road? You better believe it! We can actually come up with some ways in which he could end up being reassigned after what happened; or, maybe he moves away from the Allegiance in Washington and opts to move his career in a different direction. In the end, we think by reintroducing Harm to the world, the writers have at least some sort of a plan. Personally, we don’t think that we’ve reached the end of it yet, but that may be something that we see play out more and more over time.
