Chicago PD season 7 episode 6 spoilers: A new case impacts Halstead

Chicago PD season 7 episode 6 is going to further along what is a significant narrative for this year: Changes for Jay Halstead. Think about it — Jesse Lee Soffer’s character finds himself amidst a new dynamic at a Intelligence after Antonio’s exit. We know that he’s challenge Voight a little more, and this is something that executive producer Rick Eid discussed with us back earlier this month on set.

Also, let’s not forget about what is going on with him and Hailey Upton as the two continue to build more of a bond. It may turn into a romantic relationship, but we don’t want to guarantee anything right now. This is a slow build to end all slow builds.

We’re hearing now that season 7 episode 6, which is airing on October 30, is going to be a pretty enormous story for Jay. As for how that plays out, there could still be a few elements of surprise in that. What we’ve got for you below is the official synopsis, which gives you at least a good sense of what’s coming:

10/30/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : The shocking murder of young boys affects Halstead. Crawford encourages Intelligence to use a new facial-recognition software to help identify a suspect, but the plan backfires. TV-14 LV

So why is this case in particular getting to Halstead? It may be due to their age, or this notion that they still had a lot of life to live. It could also be due to the fact that these boys had some sort of currently-unknown connection to him or his past. Being personally invested in a case can occasionally have blowback, and we’ve seen that time and time again over the years on these shows. Yet, it can also make you more determined and enable you to find another gear that you are not able to tap into all of the time. If that happens here with Jay, it could be to the benefit of everyone around him — especially other people who we may be able to keep from becoming victims down the road.
