Outlander at the PCAs: What a Bingeworthy victory would mean
We know that for Outlander fans, they’ve been voting long and hard in order to make sure that their favorite show gets this prize. It’s a great honor for a show that has won big at the awards-show before, and we think that there are three different reasons why taking home the prize this time would matter so much. Consider this some added fuel leading up to the end of PCAs voting at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.
1. It shows the continued strength of the fanbase – We’ve said for some time now that Outlander fans are some of the best in the business. We don’t think that this is going to change anytime soon. Sometimes for shows that are more than a few seasons in, enthusiasm tends to fade. A victory here would prove that to be false in this instance.
2. It’d give the cast some love amidst some snubs – Ultimately, we’ve been dealing with some bad luck as of late with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and the show not getting the love that they deserve from a number of big awards shows. It’s always great to get recognition and while we wish that there’d be some Emmy love, this is a wonderful prize that they would embrace. The entire cast and crew deserves it!
3. It could lead to more scoop! – In the event that one of the cast members is able to attend (we know that they’re still filming at present), maybe that means some interviews on the red carpet. That may mean a chance to learn more about the show at a time when there may not be a whole lot of scoop elsewhere.
