According to a new report coming in via TVLine, Helfer will be appearing in some capacity on the final season of the Netflix series — it may not be anything more than a one-episode stint, but it should still be a worthy return for those who enjoyed her prior to her (insert tear here) death at the conclusion of season 3.
The question, of course, comes in how we end up seeing Charlotte Richards, in some shape or form, turn up. Isn’t the character dead? Well, the photo shared by the publication below makes it very clear that there is a different sort of Charlotte this time around … if it’s even Charlotte at all. the outfit is certainly different, and there could be a different sort of spirit about her. Maybe this is a Charlotte who is already up in Heaven?
No matter the reasoning for the return, this is a return that we still very much welcome. It should be great to have her back within the world of the show and we’re eager to see what sort of fun ideas the writers have. The problem still remains having to wait such a LONG time in order to learn. After all, the plan at the moment is for Lucifer season 5 to premiere in 2020, but the specific timing remains a mystery. A part of this may be due to whether or not Netflix chooses to release these episodes via a split-season format, or if this is some sort of situation where they want to put the episodes out all at once.
