Is Sophia Ali leaving Grey’s Anatomy, and her role of Dr. Dahlia Qadri after the events of tonight’s episode? Following what transpired, we would certainly understand if you were to have a few different questions.
At the end of the episode tonight, Miranda Bailey decided to fire Qadri, with the simple reason for it being that she became a little bit defiant over her kicking out Meredith Grey. Qadri feels like she could’ve learned a lot from Meredith and now, she’s not getting an opportunity to do that. She felt like her training was slighted and this is not the job she signed up for. Because of that, Bailey told her that if she wanted to go be with Meredith, she could — outside of the hospital.
Do we understand Bailey’s move? On some level, sure — her authority in the hospital was being questioned by someone under her, and may have viewed a lot of her actions as insubordination. You can also argue that there was some sort of justification for her firing Meredith, Alex, and Webber, even if we don’t like it.

For the time being, there is no confirmation that Ali is leaving Grey’s Anatomy, and given that Meredith, Webber, and Alex are all a part of the show, it’s fair to assume that she will be, as well. The only reason why she may not be is because Qadri had a different position, and she may not have the financial luxury to stick around in Seattle and explore other possibilities. She may have to take off elsewhere and figure out what she wants next in her life.
Once there is some more news on Qadri’s status on the ABC series, we’ll have it for you here. We don’t want to assume anything right now for sure.
