NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 episode 3 sneak peek: Kilbride’s surprise

Coming up on NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 episode 3, you’re going to see the return of Gerald McRaney as retired Admiral Kilbride! This is someone we saw in a leadership position during his arc in season 10. This time around, though, you’ll get a chance to check him out in a slightly different setting than before.

This brings us, ultimately, to the sneak peek below featuring none other than Kilbride alongside Sam and Callen, where the latter are learning a few surprises about him while working as protective detail. As it turns out, Kilbride may not have been 100% honest when it comes to the gravity of some of the threats against him. That’s a problem — a big problem, in fact. It means that Callen and Sam are going to have to get a little more creative than they would be otherwise in their efforts to try and protect him.

Kilbride, meanwhile, seems to be relatively unfazed by some of the stuff going on around him. Instead, he merely opts to bring up all of the different times he’s been in trouble before! Kilbride feels like he’s doing his version of the guy who scored a lot of touchdowns in high school — albeit in a far more serious level. We do recognize that he’s escaped some tricky situations in the past, but this is ultimately not the past anymore! This is a different era now and these are different threats.

While we’re reasonably confident here that Sam and Callen are going to figure out ways to keep the Admiral safe, let’s make this one thing clear: It’s not going to be easy. As a matter of fact, we’re expecting one big roadblock after the next for our heroes in what could prove to be an entertaining hour of TV.
