Chicago Fire season 8 episode 4 spoilers: How the crossover begins!

Just in case you did not know already, there is a big crossover coming on Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD! Not only that, but you’re going to be seeing this story play out in just over two weeks’ time. Chicago Fire will lead things off, and it will be followed after the fact by Chicago PD and then Chicago Med. These crossovers tend to follow the beat of their own drum, and it’s mostly in order to best suit the story.

For the crossover this year, it seems as though a mass infection will be at the cornerstone of the story. Below, you can get some details from the Chicago Fire part of the story, one that makes it very clear that there is chaos spreading quickly throughout almost all of the Windy City. 10/16/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : In the first part of a three-show crossover event, a rare but deadly bacteria takes its toll on numerous victims around the city, leaving Chicago’s finest first responders to work together alongside the CDC to resolve the dangerous situation. Following a fire at a local university that ties into the outbreak, Severide has suspicions that something bigger is happening. TV-14 V

What this “something bigger” may be is something that could send the city into panic. It could threaten a lot of the city, or have someone especially nefarious at the center of it. Entering the crossover this year, we imagine that one of the struggles for the writers was to find a way to bring about something with much higher stakes than usual. It’s not that any of the previous crossovers had low stakes, but there are few things out there deadlier than a massive virus that is threatening to take out millions of people — at least if it is not properly contained.

For Chicago PD, we imagine that they will be all about taking out the people responsible. Meanwhile, over on Chicago Med, you’ll see how some of the doctors and nurses contend with what is a dangerous threat that is taking out lives.
