Welcome to ‘Shiptober 2019! Throughout the month of October, CarterMatt will be bringing you our annual tournament featuring some of best ‘ships in all of TV. What is a ‘ship? It is comprised of characters you want to see together romantically. Maybe they’re already together, or maybe they’ve never been together. It doesn’t matter. ‘Shipping is one of the most popular parts of any TV fandom, it’s super fun and this tournament is a celebration of that.

Within this article, we’ve got a fun showdown between a pair of shows and ‘ships that have been around for a long time: Liz & Ressler from The Blacklist, and then also Clarke & Bellamy from The 100. One of the other things that is fun about this is that in the case of both ‘ships, you can also make the case that there is SO much more story to tell for each of them now that we’re so late in both of these series’ runs.

Voting Rules – Voting will be underway in the poll below from now until Monday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Vote however often you’d like! (For more voting instructions or technical questions, check out the bottom of this article for answers.)

Liz & Ressler, The Blacklist (#3 seed) – Is season 6 finally going to be the year where Liz & Ressler become something a little bit more? Keenler fans have been out there for quite some time, and admittedly, there’s been some hints of something coming about ever since season 1. The unfortunate reality here is that even still, there’s no 100% verification that we’re ever going to see a full-fledged romance here … though it may make sense now that these two have gone through so much and understand each other so well.

Clarke & Bellamy, The 100 (#6 seed) – There are absolutely a lot of people out there hoping for more from Bellarke, and that desire is probably amplified further by the sense of urgency that is now out there. With season 7 set to be the final one for the show on The CW, time is definitely of the essence. In a way, you could argue that there are some similarities here to Liz/Ressler — while both Clarke and Bellamy have had other relationships throughout the show’s run, they’re now in this interesting place where they’ve gone through everything together and emerged on the other side.
