Jamie & Claire (Outlander) vs. Natalie & Will (Chicago Med) – ‘Shiptober poll

Welcome to ‘Shiptober 2019! Throughout the month of October, CarterMatt will be bringing you our annual tournament featuring some of best ‘ships in all of TV. What is a ‘ship? It is comprised of characters you want to see together romantically. Maybe they’re already together, or maybe they’ve never been together. It doesn’t matter. ‘Shipping is one of the most popular parts of any TV fandom, it’s super fun and this tournament is a celebration of that.

In this piece, we are kicking off the first ‘Shiptober showdowns of the bracket! To be specific, we have a popular set of duos in Jamie & Claire (Outlander) going head to head against Natalie & Will (Chicago Med). Both of these duos are established ‘Shiptober combatants, but only one will earn a spot in round 2.

Voting Rules – Voting will be underway in the poll below from now until Wednesday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Vote however often you’d like! (For more voting instructions or technical questions, check out the bottom of this article for answers.)

Jamie & Claire, Outlander (#1 seed) – The Frasers enter the tournament this year as one of the most solid participants of ‘Shiptober. They finished in the top four last season, and there is no reason to think that they won’t continue to hum strongly along this year. Jamie and Claire Fraser are as passionate a couple as you’re going to find — they’ve endured decades apart from each other, and you can argue entering season 5 that their love is greater than ever. They have a new home and a new life, and they will lean on each other through thick and thin as the threat of war looms.

Will & Natalie, Chicago Med (#8 seed) – Manstead, meanwhile, are not in anywhere near as stable a place. It’s obvious that Will loves Natalie and wants to be with her; yet, she’s suffering from a traumatic brain injury after the season 4 cliffhanger. She’s been told by Phillip that the two are engaged, but she has no recollection of a proposal. (Here’s a reminder: There wasn’t one.) Will is going to have to fight hard and be patient to get Natalie back … and he may also have to prove somewhere along the way that Phillip is faking an engagement. That won’t be easy!
