After last week’s dramatic premiere, it feels like NCIS: New Orleans season 6 episode 2 will be taking a turn for the weird and wacky. How else would you describe an episode where UFOs are at the center of the action?
In the video below, you can get a good sense of some of what we’re talking about here as Pride, Sebastian, and the rest of the team take on a case involving something unexplained in the sky. A Navy pilot saw something … but she’s having a hard time being able to explain that said something to other people. This is the foundation for this episode, which makes it almost the perfect story to watch if you’re done trying to storm Area 51. It’s also the perfect for this particular show, given how the New Orleans mythos does allow for the writers to explore ideas that are, perhaps, a little bit more supernatural than what you are going to see discussed elsewhere in the franchise. (Sure, most of the supernatural stuff we tend to look at here are things like voodoo and ghost stories — not so much stuff with aliens.)
It feels already like this would be a great Sebastian episode, though we’ll admit that there is a part of us that also wants to get a better sense of where his personal life is amidst all of the humorous antics that he and Gregorio get into sometimes. There is fun in the two of the being roommates and spending time together, but what are their desired endgames? What do they want out of their lives at this point? Because this is season 6, this allows us for more of a chance to explore a lot of this stuff … and then also break down some other cases and the typical stuff you’ve come to expect from the show.
In the end, though, the writers couldn’t have timed all of this better with all of the stuff about UFOs and aliens in the headlines. Thank Area 51 for that.
