Ray Lewis leaving Dancing with the Stars season 28 after torn tendon
According to a new report from Entertainment Tonight, the NFL Super Bowl winner and Cheryl Burke will not be performing, with injury being the apparent reason why. What remains unclear is whether or not Lewis will have to withdraw from the competition outright, or if there is rehearsal footage available to be scored. We’ve seen that happen in the past when a star is physically unable to perform on the actual show. It’s clear that the result of this will be important in dictating how far Lewis goes, especially with the way that the series is utilizing voting for this season in particular. They’re making watching this show more of a watch-live experience than ever before.

Lewis’ future on the show was first under suspicion due to a post that he made on Instagram. Meanwhile, Burke also posted on Instagram recently that was very much curious in its own right.
If Ray and Cheryl had continued to compete on the show tonight, their odds of sticking around on the series were far from substantial. We wanted to think that there was still some sort of a chance for the two of them, but it was something that would be an uphill battle. They were barely saved over Mary Wilson and if they go tonight, it’s going to be one of the least-exciting Dancing with the Stars installments in recent memory.
Update: Lewis confirmed that he is leaving the show tonight after suffering a torn tendon.
