Saturday Night Live: Aidy Bryant gives context to costume mishap

Saturday Night Live

On last night’s Saturday Night Live premiere, one of the funniest moments is one no one intended to happen. We’re, of course, referring to cast member Aidy Bryant having a bit of a costume calamity in the middle of the Inside the Beltway sketch. The costumer dresser was out there when they weren’t meant to be out there, which meant as a result of that a scramble to not having the sketch fall apart. Bryant broke character moments later, and her laughter is a big part of what made this so memorable.

So what did Bryant have to say about this after the fact? In a new post on Instagram (see below), the actress identified her dresser as the person who came out on stage. This was her job, but ultimately, this was just a case of bad timing. She also made it clear that she’s been a longtime employee of the show and, in addition to this part of her day-to-day life, she’s also a park ranger! It’s a totally random, but also very-much endearing part of her overall story.

In the end, we don’t think that this is going to be a situation that anyone looks back at with any scorn. This is just the sort of thing that tends to happen here and there in the live TV world.
