El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie teaser: Old Joe & Jesse Pinkman

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is kicking off on Netflix in just under two weeks, and the latest teaser can be described in two words: Nostalgia galore.

In the video below, you can see a scene featuring Old Joe at the junk yard — one where he finds himself watching the news about Jesse Pinkman on television. During the events of El Camino, it’s clear that Jesse is on the run, and there are some people who are going to be tracking him down. Will Joe be one of them? We wouldn’t say that. As a matter of fact, Joe gets a call from someone in this new trailer who seems to be Jesse! Joe makes it clear to him that he is very-much famous at this point, which we’re sure Jesse knows.

So what will the main story be for El Camino? Judging from where things are right now, it feels like we’re gearing up for the story of how Jesse Pinkman begins his new life — and how he can evade the authorities, if such a thing is possible. We are quite curious to watch this story unravel over these two hours, especially since it is going to have to move rather quickly.

Our hope is that this movie, one way or another, offers up a good sense of what Jesse’s future could be. It’s a complicated thing to ponder, given that Jesse is the sort of character who has done terrible things and that’s not the sort of stuff that can be forgotten about. Yet, at the same time, he is also the sort of character who was used and manipulated by Walter White and has endured terrible things on his own. Maybe he’s not entirely sympathetic, but he is still someone who may deserve a chance at redemption.

No matter what the answers to these questions are, we’ll find out very soon.
