Who is Peter Enneking, subject of How to Get Away with Murder title card?
As it turns out, Enneking was one of the brilliant crew members who worked hard behind the scenes in order to make this show into the enormous success story that it was. The crew of every show are the unsung heroes, ones who work long hours and often without any public acknowledgment. These title cards are enormous for that reason — they ensure that you are not forgotten and that you are very much loved by your cast and crew. They know you for your work, and they also know you as a human being. His specific role within the ABC series was that of a dimmer operator, which he had on the show for many years.
Peter Enneking had a history of working within the camera and electrical department across a number of different shows, ones that included Happy Endings as well as Flashforward. Clearly, he was familiar with the larger family of ABC series. Enneking passed away earlier this year, but How to Get Away with Murder has been off the air since that time. This is why you do sometimes see more title card tributes at the start of a season than at any other point, since you have such a wider gap between episodes. That means more unfortunate losses for show families — and they really are just that. Often, these crew members spend more time with each other than anyone else they see during the week.
Through the remainder of How to Get Away with Murder and its run, Enneking will be remembered. This card was a part of the final cut of the episode, which means that it will be a part of future DVD releases and repeat airings. It was not just added on for the airing tonight. The Viola Davis-led series may be in the process of its final season right now, but remember that many of these episodes will continue to air around the world for quite some time — and that is without mentioning their streaming impact.
What we’re trying to say here, in summation, is that Peter Enneking and his work will live on.
