This Is Us season 4 spoilers: Will Cassidy and Kevin meet?
In the premiere, we had a chance to meet Jennifer Morrison’s character — and realize that she comes with her fair share of flaws. She’s a military veteran who is dealing with issues relating to PTSD and alcoholism; to go along with that, she also had the incident where she struck her child in the middle of an episode. Her previous relationship is falling apart and she’s completely broken.
What we know for now, is that Cassidy was there when Nicky caused a scene and got arrested outsider her meeting. With that, Kevin seems to be flying out to the East Coast to check in on him. It’s possible that the two meet — or, it could even be a sure thing based on what executive producer Dan Fogelman had to say to Entertainment Weekly:
I can’t say too much about it other than the relationship is complicated, it’s formative, and it’s a very deep, interesting, bizarre relationship. And whether or not it’s ever romantic is for the series to delve into a little bit later on. But it’s an interesting thing when you look back — she’s going to be somebody who adjusts a part of the course of Kevin’s life. As is the entire first half of the season that he’s embarking on. I had just texted Justin the other day — I think he’s doing maybe his most interesting work of the entire series so far in this season. And that’s saying something.

If there is a romantic connection with Kevin and Cassidy, it’s clearly not coming about immediately and could take a certain degree of time to fully materialize. It would be complicated — after all, most relationships are! There is a lot of good stuff for the writers to mine here and we’re excited to see what they end up doing with it.
