Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Erin Cummings set to play Mandy
According to a new report from TVLine, there will be an appearance from Spartacus alum Erin Cummings in at least one upcoming episode. (Consider this a small reunion with Lucifer series regular Lesley-Ann Brandt.) Cummings is going to appear on the show in the role of Mandy, the Chief Engineer with the Red 2 Mars Project. This is a character with one major goal: The “extended simulation tests is to find out exactly who will crack under the strain of isolation.”

What this casting suggests, (at least to us) is that there will still be a major case-of-the-week element to Lucifer season 5. Given that this has long been a foundational feel of the show, we don’t want it to go away. Why else would there be a Chief Engineer to a Mars project appearing on the show?
As for how these cases will work within the new season, there is still an element of mystery to that. Lucifer Morningstar is starting off the new season in Hell, so when is he even going to have ample time to spend with some of his friends at the LAPD, let alone the woman that he loves in Chloe? We think that he could eventually find his way, but in the interim, crime waits for no man … or Devil. It’s going to be business as usual at the police department; plus, there are some characters who don’t even know that Lucifer is actually the devil. They have to move forward pretending as though everything is (somehow) still totally normal.
New episodes of Lucifer will premiere in the new year; while you wait for a trailer or other good stuff to launch (likely next year), remember that there will probably be more casting news leading up to it.
