Empire season 6 episode 2 preview: Is Lucious still on the run?

Empire season 6 episode 2 is going to be a direct continuation of the premiere. Beyond that, this is going to be a chance to learn maybe a little bit about Lucious’ endgame. Does he really think that he can run forever? The more time that he’s away, the more that he is missing — time with Cookie, time with Andre (who almost died), and time doing what he could for the world of music. He’s living as a ghost and it doesn’t feel like there are any moments coming up that are going to change that. (Ironically, his ghost will probably still haunt plenty of other characters in the time that he’s gone.)

While Lucious is still on the run, Cookie confronts Damon about why he lied to her. Andre, who is dealing with his own personal trauma, is suddenly forced to grapple with an unforeseen family complication. Meanwhile, Becky and Giselle try to get the star power they need out of their first Bossy Media artist and Tiana tries to help Devon find his sound in the all-new “Got on my Knees to Pray” episode of EMPIRE airing Tuesday, Oct.1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (EMP-602) (TV-14 D, L, S, V).

Within this episode, we will have an opportunity to see Becky and Giselle’s new venture get off the ground a little bit more, and also see how Andre handles added family responsibility. He’s in a horrible spot at the moment — after everything that he has gone through, it would make a little bit more sense to sit back and avoid a lot of the stress that comes with handling a massive operation. Unfortunately, he may not have a choice. Lucious is gone, Jamal is staying away from the family, and the wheels of Empire just keep turning. He’s not an artist in the way that we’ve seen with other family members and, beyond that, he’s got a lot of family stuff to juggle at the moment.
