The Voice premiere: Kyndal Inskeep closes with ‘Never Been to Spain’

The Voice season 17

If there’s one thing that we know about The Voiceit’s this: The final performance at the end of the first show is usually one to watch. It tends to generate a lot of attention and, on the other side of that, makes someone into an almost-instant favorite. Kyndal Inskeep had a chance in order to get that status for herself at the end of the episode, and she made one thing very clear: She loves Blake Shelton. She wanted to be able to impress him, but there was always a chance at a block.

The more that we learned about Kyndal, the more we got a sense that she had a tough road to being who she is. She struggled with insecurity and anxiety when she was younger. Her performance was to a classic in “Never Been to Spain,” which is probably not the sort of song that we really expected her to do. It showed that she does have a great deal of musical versatility — she’s able to do rock, and given her Nashville leanings now, she could also probably do a little bit of pop and country at the same time.

What we’re trying to say here, in the end, is that Kyndal has a lot of potential in this competition moving forward. Due to a well-timed block, Gwen Stefani now has her! If you are Gwen, this is what we like to consider a fantastic start to the season. It’s a way to bring someone on board your team who is legitimately talented

In the end, we do think that this performance does help to set the stage for what could be an exciting season coming up! We’re hoping for a lot of fun moments, great performances, and causes for excitement. Hopefully, this is just the beginning for some great things coming over the next few weeks for her. She has a chance to get an even larger spotlight for her team now than ever before … and Kyndal is an early contender to win.
