NCIS season 17 bosses open to more Cote de Pablo as Ziva
For the time being, what we know is this: There are going to be four episodes coming up this season featuring Ziva David. Two of them have been already filmed, and the other two are coming up down the line. There are hopes from many that we could see Tony or the their daughter Tali down the line, but nothing is confirmed on that at the moment.

So, beyond these four episodes, could the long-term plans for Ziva change? Based on what executive producer Steven D. Binder told Entertainment Tonight, it sounds as though there may still be flexibility on Cote’s future even before the remaining two episodes are filmed:
I will say that, because we’re in the middle of the season and moving fast, all of these things are planned out far in advance. So, our plan right now is our plan. We’ve always been a show that thinks quickly on our feet and adapts to change, so I can’t give you anything definitive except that we’ve planned ahead and yet we’re also very nimble. If the opportunity presents itself, which it often does in this show…
Many times we’re cruising to the last four episodes and creating our world because things have changed and we’re changing what we’re doing. We have a plan right now and it could change. Or it may not. We’ll see how the reception is and what our writers come up with if… watching [these episodes] sparks new ideas. But, we’re a fluid, nimble show for sure.
Binder and Cardea already mentioned to CarterMatt in a recent interview (you can read the whole interview here) that Cote’s arrival was something that already caused them to change some of their plans, and move things around from what they were originally looking to do. We have a feeling that the reaction to Ziva’s return will be largely positive; from there, it will come down to the ratings and then also fan/Cote’s reaction in order to determine what else the future could hold. We’d love to see her around for more episodes every season moving forward; if she isn’t going to be a regular again, why not have her in a role like Fornell, where he could turn up a few different times over the course of the year?
