Chesapeake Shores season 4 episode 6 (finale) spoilers: Abby, Trace’s future
Back when Hallmark Channel decided to renew the show, it was a cause of great celebration. Yet, at the same time there was disappointment — why only six episodes? What does that mean in terms of the show’s overall future? There are reasons to be concerned, but for now, the network hasn’t announced much in terms of the show’s future. The good news is that season 4 is down only slightly in the 18-49 demographic versus season 3 — it’s actually up in terms of total viewers. Isn’t that a reason for some hope for another season? We like to think so.
As for what the story is going to be within this episode, there will be romance. Yet, it may be of the awkward variety as Abby and Trace have to figure out whether or not they want to be with their respective new partners. A surprise meeting could lead to Trace and Abby remembering what they’ve missed, and cause them to rethink what they want their future to be. As for what’s happening elsewhere, be prepared within this episode to see more professional movement for some characters, tears, and maybe a few broad, happy moments sprinkled in. Remember that the season finale is titled “Watercolors, Wishes, and Weddings” — do you think that Hallmark Channel would title this episode in such a way if they wanted you to stay sad?
Below, CarterMatt does have the official Chesapeake Shores season 4 finale synopsis (via SpoilerTV), which contains many different details:
Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) and Abby’s (Meghan Ory) diverging paths finally meet as season four of “Chesapeake Shores” comes to a close in “Watercolors, Wishes, and Weddings,” premiering Sunday, September 29 (8 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel. Abby’s official first date with Jay (Greyston Holt) gets awkward when they show up to the same restaurant as Trace and Emma (Lanie McAuley), revealing lingering chemistry between the former couple and causing Trace to reconsider recording a duet album with Emma. Meanwhile, family drama bubbles beneath the surface of O’Brien family celebrations. In the early stages of their new relationship, Mick (Treat Williams) and Megan (Barbara Niven) try to avoid the relationship mistakes they made the first time around.
Jess (Lacy J. Mailey) and David (Carlo Marks) hit a snag in their B&B opening that threatens to derail David’s romantic plans. When a potential new agent approaches Bree (Emilie Ullerup) about her goals, she realizes she is uncertain about what she wants to do next. Kevin (Brendan Penny) and Sarah (Jessica Sipos) try to find common ground for their future. Both Connor (Andrew Francis) and Abby consider new jobs. Standing at personal and professional crossroads, Trace and the O’Briens all have important decisions to make.
