The Masked Singer season 2 sneak peek: Who is the Black Widow?
We imagine that some of the costume designers for this show had no easy task trying to come up with this particular character’s look and style. After all, spiders are one of those creatures commonly associated with fear, but The Masked Singer is by nature a show geared towards all audiences. If you are working at Fox, the last thing that you want to do is scare someone away from watching.

As for what the Black Widow is performing in the video below, think in terms of the Whitney Houston classic “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” There’s a lot of the same sort of passion and power in here that you would expect from someone doing this song, and we have a good indication from this and this alone that whoever is underneath that mask has some serious vocal pipes. It’s not necessarily someone who is a big-time powerhouse like Whitney, but she has a tone that sounds like it could work for either pop music or R&B.
What we’re trying to get at here is simply this: You’re going to have a lot of opportunities over the weeks ahead to learn more about who is underneath that mask. The Black Widow is far too talented to be one of the first people eliminated from this competition. There are going to be other people who, in one way or another, come into this show with a lot less in terms of a big-time singing background.
No matter who is under that mask, though, we do think that the #1 thing that matters when it comes to The Masked Singer is being able to enjoy the show and the crazy ride.
